Full Description
A gas works complex of the Bournemouth Gas & Water Co is shown on the OS 3rd edn 1:2500 map (1925) (1) and, in much expanded form (it may have been under construction at the time of 3rd edn map), on the 4th edn map of the 1930s (2). The complex included several large structures, at least one of which was shown with an attached stack, railway sidings linked to the Southern Railway line between Poole and Bournemouth and a formal garden with a flagstaff. The site has subsequently been redeveloped.
