Full Description

Historic OS maps (1, 2) show a steep-sided defile extending W from Alum Chine for 400m. It is possibly natural but could conceivably be related to post-medieval alum or copperas extraction in this area (MDO32794). The feature is cut by Alumhurst Rd.
