Full Description
A circular plantation approximately 75m in diameter and marked as coniferous trees is shown as The Maze on the OS 1st edn 25in map (1870) (1). It was threaded by sinuous paths with a circular path just within the periphery. The 2nd edn map (1898) (2) shows the plantation and paths but does not name the feature; the depiction on the 3rd edn (1909) (3) suggests that it was no longer a significant landscape feature.
