Full Description

The OS 1st edn 25in map (c 1870) (1) shows a 'County Police Station' on a plot evidently taken out of extensive rough heathland on the then edge of the built-up urban area of Bournemouth. The area was marked as Madeira Vale. The site is now part of the Law Courts complex.
