Full Description

A small square feature is shown as 'Pound' on the OS 1st edn 25in map (c 1870) (1). It stood alongside Holdenhurst Road, then an important route into Bournemouth, within the goods yard of what was then the terminus of the LSWR Christchurch and Bournemouth branch line. The site was subsequently redeveloped as part of the expanded goods yard (2).
