Full Description

The OS 3rd edn 25in map (1909) (1) shows an engineered path or track running on two alignments obliquely across the face of the coastal cliffs at Boscombe, providing an easy route from the cliff-top to the shore. It was probably associated with the path running to the cliff-top from Pokesdown to the N known as Fisherman's Walk (MDO32906), although it was more probably for leisure use than for a fishery. The cliff path probably replaced a flight of steps up the cliff shown a short distance to the W on the OS 2nd edn map (1898) (2).
