Full Description

A circular structure identified as an ice house is shown in woodland on the OS 1st edn 25in map (1871) (1). It was probably associated with the large 18th C house named Stourfield which lay 200m to the NW, and to which it was linked by a track. The ice house was again depicted on the OS 2nd edn 25in map (1898) (2) but the site had been developed for housing by the time of the 3rd edn (1909) (3).
