Summary
A small structure depicted on the 3rd edition (1909) 25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map, on which it is called 'Life Saving Apparatus House'. A structure of similar size is shown in the same place on the 2nd edition (1900) 25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map; it is not labelled but is considered likely to be the same structure and to be of late 19th or early 20th-century date.

Full Description
A small structure near the Southbourne Coastguard Station was marked as 'Life Saving Apparatus House' on the OS 3rd edn 25in map (1909) (1); the structure had previously been shown on the 2nd edn map (2) but was not labelled. A similarly sized structure stands on the site but it is unknown whether it is the original building.
