Full Description

The OS 2nd edn 25in map (1898) (1) shows an 'Old Gravel Pit' on the W side of the road approaching the S end of Tuckton Bridge. This working may have been the context for the find of a bucket urn in 1881 (MDO8448), the find spot for which is shown on or close to the site of the former gravel pit on the OS 5th edn 1:2500 map (2).
