Full Description

The OS 1st edn 25in map (1869) (1) shows a lodge on the S side of Lymington Road at the entrance to the drive to a cliff-top country house called Beacon Lodge. The lodge and drive were shown on subsequent maps into the World War 2 period (2) but the site has subsequently been redeveloped for housing.
