Full Description

A site on the W bank of the River Avon, N of the present Mill Road, Christchurch, was shown as an excavation on the OS 1st edn map (1871) (1) and marked as 'Old Gravel Pit' on the 2nd edn (1898) (2). Subsequent maps (3, 4) show the site developed for housing.
