Full Description

The OS 3rd edn 1:2500 map (1924) (1) shows the route of an 'Old Tramway' linking a complex of sidings on an area of heath marked Turbary Allotment to the E and S of Hatch Pond, Nuffield, to a location adjacent to the London South Western Railway Poole - Broadstone Junction line. No indication of the tramway route appears on the OS 2nd edn map (1901) (2) so it dates to some point in the period 1901-24. Much of the site has subsequently been redeveloped as the Nuffield Industrial Estate
