Full Description
SY 60068936. A very regular circular depression 23.0m in diameter and 0.6m. deep, possibly a pond barrow but no real evidence of an encircling bank. Ploughed. Discovered during field investigation. Surveyed at 1:2500 on MSD. <1>
Field investigations in 1980 identified a possible Bronze Age pond barrow visible as a regular circular depression, 23 metres in diameter and 0.6 metres deep. This feature is also visible on aerial photographs <2> as an earthwork circular hollow surrounded by an outer bank and was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
