Summary
A lime kiln recorded as ‘limekiln’ on the 1st epoch 1:25-inch scale and second edition (1900-1902) Ordnance Survey map. The date of this kiln is not known but it is most likely to be late nineteenth century. The site was visited in 1992-93 by Peter Stanier, who could find no trace of the kiln structure.

Full Description
The kiln discussed by Stanier <1> is at approximately ST 5931 1038. It seems very likely that this is the same kiln as the one depicted on the 1st edition map <2> which is situated a little way to the north. The map shows the kiln at the edge of a small quarry.
