Summary

A Bronze Age bowl barrow situated on a spur. In 1970 this monument was reported as being around 57 feet in diameter with a mound about 1½ feet high, and much reduced by ploughing. The site is visible as a low earthwork on lidar imagery and was digitally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM.

Full Description

(Centred ST 876020) Tumuli (NR) (Three shown). <1> A-ST 876020. Bowl barrow, 19.0m diameter and 0.6m high with traces of a surrounding ditch. B-ST 87650206. Bowl barrow, 24.0m diameter and 0.8m high with traces of a surrounding ditch. C-ST 87780216. Bowl barrow, 17.0m diameter and 0.4m high (see ST 80 SE 28). <2> A (18) Bowl barrow (ST 87480202), much ploughed, 57ft diameter and 1 1/2ft high. . <3> (A-ST 87480201) Tumulus (NR) (B-ST 87650206; C-ST 87780216) Tumulus (NR) (site of) (NAT) (twice). <4> The site is visible as a low earthwork mound, 14m across, on lidar imagery <9>. It was digitally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM.
