Full Description
A grave situated within the abandoned settlement. The grave cut was 1.50m long and 0.75m wide, and was orientated SE-NW with the head at the southern end. The skeleton was that of a man between 26 and 35 years old, lying with the right arm bent at the elbow and hand by the neck, and with the legs slightly flexed to the right.
Examination of the bones revealed evidence of anaemia, dental caries, and spinal joint disease. Fourteen coffin nails were found. The filling of the grave also contained redeposited sherds of early Iron Age pottery.
