Monument record MDO37290 - Round barrow west of Town Farm, Sixpenny Handley
Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
A circular ditch situated around 240 metres west of Town Farm. The ditch is visible as a penannular cropmark around 18 metres in diameter. Interpreted as the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow, and a chalky patch in the centre of the ring ditch suggests that the mound of the barrow may survive as a slight earthwork.

Full Description
Plough-levelled round barrow clearly visible as a circular penannular cropmark with an estimated diameter of c16 metres on aerial photographs dated 2005, The northernmost arc of the circumference appears to be absent, but this may be a result of agricultural truncation, rather than evidence for a deliberate break in the ditch.
