Summary

A gravel pit shown on the first edition Ordnance Survey map. On this map it is described as 'Old Gravel Pit' at the northern end, and 'Gravel Pit' at the southern end. The extractive pit is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

A gravel pit shown on the first edition Ordnance Survey map (1). On this map it is described as 'Old Gravel Pit' at the northern end, and 'Gravel Pit' at the southern end. The extractive pit is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (2) and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP. The etxraction appears to have extended southwards across the Horton Road (3).
