Full Description
Two small barrows on Oakley Down (SU 0117), on the west side of the road towards Woodyates were excavated by Colt Hoare circa 1800. One contained a disturbed interment and the other a cremation with some large-headed nails in a cist. The Royal Commission could not identify either of them with any of the barrows in this area. <1-3>
