Summary

Bank and ditched linear features are visible as cropmarks and earthworks on aerial photographs in fields to the north of Hingsdon. They are considered to be field boundaries and cultivation marks of medieval or later date. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description

A wide ditched feature is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs, running for 65m, in a roughly NW-SE direction, across the paddock immediately to the south-east of Dairy Cottages, Patley Wood Farm. It is considered to be a trackway of medieval or later date and was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP. It is still partially visible on the latest Google Earth imagery.
