Summary

A quarry is marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map. It is one of a number of small extractive pits in the vicinity which are visible on lidar imagery and were digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project.

Full Description

Described as 'quarry' on the map, so presumably active at the time the map was surveyed. Considered likely, therefore, to be of mid-nineteenth century date [1]. The quarry is visible on lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Upper Frome and Sydling Valley AIM project [2].
