Summary
An area of shallow extractive pits is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs on the northern end of Hardown Hill. A series of small pits extend eastwards in the area immediately adjacent to the Bronze Age barrows described in MDO2987-8. The features are considered to be of medieval or later date and represent an early phase of extraction on the hill. The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description
An area of shallow extractive pits is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs on the northern end of Hardown Hill (1). A series of small pits extend eastwards in the area immediately adjacent to the Bronze Age barrows described in MDO2987-8.
