Summary

Linear banked features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery on the northern end of Quarry Hill. They are considered to be the remains of an enclosure and field boundary of uncertain date. The features have been partially destroyed by post medieval quarrying (MDO38387) and are likely to be of medieval or earlier origin. The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description

Linear banked features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery on the northern end of Quarry Hill (1-2). They are considered to be the remains of an enclosure and field boundary of uncertain date. The features have been partially destroyed by post medieval quarrying (MDO38387) and are likely to be of medieval or earlier origin. The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
