Summary

Parallel cultivation marks with associated field boundaries are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948, to the west of New Street Lane, Verse Farm. The features are considered to be cultivation marks or ridge and furrow of medieval or later date, they have since been levelled and partially destroyed by the A35 trunk road. The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description

Parallel cultivation marks with associated field boundaries are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948, to the west of New Street Lane, Verse Farm (1). The features are considered to be cultivation marks or ridge and furrow of medieval or later date, they have since been levelled and partially destroyed by the A35 trunk road. The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
