Summary
Extensive areas of medieval ridge and furrow with associated field boundaries are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 to the north and northwest of Symondsbury. Whilst some have been levelled, some areas remain extant and are visible on lidar imagery. The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description
Extensive areas of medieval ridge and furrow with associated field boundaries are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 to the north and northwest of Symondsbury (1). They cover an area of approximately 10 hectares and whilst partially plough-levelled, some areas remain extant and are visible on lidar imagery (2). The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
