Summary
A post medieval extractive pit and trackway to the east of Pilsdon Hill Farm are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s. The quarry is shown as a gravel pit on the OS First Edition historic mapping. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description
A small extractive pit and trackway to the east of Pilsdon Hill Farm are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s (1). The extractive pit is shown as a gravel pit on the OS First Edition historic mapping (2), suggesting a post medieval origin. The extractive pit is still faintly visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (3). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
