Full Description
A series of narrow banked and ditched field boundaries to the south of Coombe Farm are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s (1) and on a Lidar survey of 2010 (2). The boundaries are not shown on the OS 1st Edition historic mapping but their regular linear form suggests a probable post medieval origin, although an early 20th century date is possible. The boundaries are out of use by 1947, however (1). Post 1947 the site is shown as under plantation on the latest Google Earth imagery (3). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
