Summary
A large post medieval extractive pit to the southwest of Childhay Manor Farm is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s. The extractive pit may be associated with a post medieval brickworks to the southeast, shown on the OS 1st Edition historic mapping. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description
A large post medieval extractive pit to the southwest of Childhay Manor Farm is visible as an earthwork around 78m long on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s (1). The extractive pit may be associated with a post medieval brickworks to the southeast, shown on the OS 1st Edition historic mapping (2). The extractive pit is shown as a pond on the latest Google Earth imagery (3). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
