Summary
A series of large extractive pits to the northeast of Stoke Knapp Farm are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description
A series of large post medieval extractive pits to the northeast of Stoke Knapp Farm are visible as earthworks extending to around 385m on aerial photographs of the 1940s (1). The southern part of the site is marked as 'Old Quarry' on the OS 1st Edition map (2). The site lies to the north of Waddon Hill, which has also seen extensive quarrying (MDO), and is still visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (3). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
