Full Description
A series of possible banked field boundaries to the southwest of Burstock are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s (1) and on the latest Lidar imagery (2). The northwest to southeast running lynchets align with the wider pattern of enclosure, which is probably broadly medieval in origin but with some post medieval modification. The lynchets are also potentially respected by an extensive area of extraction (MDO38683), although the precise relationship, if any, between these two sites is not clear. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
