Summary

An historic banked field boundary to the west of Manor Farm, Burstock, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s and on the latest Lidar imagery. Its slightly curvilinear form and broad nature suggests a boundary of potential medieval origin, although a later date is possible. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description

An historic banked field boundary to the west of Manor Farm, Burstock, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s (1) and on the latest Lidar imagery (2). Its slightly curvilinear form and broad nature suggests a boundary of potential medieval origin, although a later date is possible. The boundary is no longer visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (3). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
