Full Description

Historic banked field boundaries to the southeast of St Andrews Church, Burstock, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s (1) and 1970s (2). The form of the boundaries potentially suggests boundaries of mixed medieval and post medieval date. Two particularly substantial lynchets lie to the east of the church, with some smaller curvilinear lynchets to the south. The boundaries show particularly well on an aerial photograph taken in 1971 (2) The site is also visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (3). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
