Summary
Two small post medieval extractive pits to the northeast of Hursey House, Broadwindsor, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s, 1970s and on the latest Lidar imagery. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description
Two small post medieval extractive pits to the northeast of Hursey House, Broadwindsor, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s (1), 1970s (2) and on the latest Lidar imagery (3). The southern pit is around 19m in diameter and is located on the south side of a field boundary shown on the OS 1st Edition map. The smaller northern pit is around 10m in diameter. The site is still visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (5)and was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
