Full Description

Historic banked and ditched field boundaries and a possible trackway to the west of Potwell Nurseries, Broadwindsor, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s (1) and on the latest Lidar imagery (2). One long north to south aligned ditched linear may incorporate a trackway, possibly associated with a small post medieval extractive pit at its north end (MDO38823). The boundaries appear to sub divide enclosures of probable late medieval or post medieval origin, suggesting a post medieval or later date for these. The site is visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (3). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
