Summary

A bank and ditched field boundary is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 to the west of Higher Sminhay Farm. It is considered likely to be of medieval or post medieval date and was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description

A bank and ditched field boundary is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 to the west of Higher Sminhay Farm (1). It is considered likely to be of medieval or post medieval date and was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP. The boundary is followed by a trackway as marked on the OS 1st edition map, it has since been levelled and is visible as cropmarks on recent Google Earth imagery (2).
