Summary
An extensive system of field boundaries and drainage features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the west of Champernhayes Farmhouse. They cover an area of approximately 80 hectares are are considered likely to be of medieval and post medieval date. A possible unit of ridge and furrow is visble at SY 351 963. near bank is visible as an earthwork on lidar imagery running roughly north-west to south-east east-west for 85m to the north of Spence Farm. The feature is considered likely to be a field boundary of post medieval. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description
An extensive system of field boundaries and drainage features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 (1-2) in fields to the west of Champernhayes Farmhouse. They cover an area of approximately 80 hectares are are considered likely to be of medieval and post medieval date. A possible unit of ridge and furrow is visible at SY 351 963. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP, it has been levelled and is no longer visible on recent Google Earth imagery (3).
