Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary

The features may be the result of post medieval cultivation although later 20th century ploughing is possible. The features are associated with a banked field boundary which has since been plough-levelled, the cultivation ridges however are still visible on recent Google Earth imagery. The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description
A unit of narrow ridge and furrow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 to the west of Nash Coppice, Nash Farm (1). The spacing between the ridges is 4m so too wide for modern ploughing but much narrower than medieval ridge and furrow; the features may therefore be the result of post medieval cultivation although later 20th century ploughing is possible. The features are associated with a banked field boundary which has since been plough-levelled, the cultivation ridges however are still visible on recent Google Earth imagery (2). The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
