Full Description
Three units of narrow ridge and furrow are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947-8 to the north of Bridge Farm (1-2). The spacing between the ridges is 4m so too wide for modern ploughing but much narrower than medieval ridge and furrow; the features may therefore be the result of post medieval cultivation although later 20th century ploughing is possible. The cultivation ridges have since been plough-levelled and are not visible on recent Google Earth imagery (3), they were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
