Monument record MDO38930 - Historic cultivation marks, Temple Farm, Broadwindsor
Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
Two units of ridged cultivation marks to the east of Temple Farm, Broadwindsor, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s and 1970s. The units are contained with enclosures of probable medieval origin, potentially an area of medieval open field associated with Temple Brook Farm. The narrow form of the cultivation ridges suggests possible post medieval narrow ridge and furrow, but a medieval origin is also possible. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
