Summary

A unit of narrow ridged cultivation marks is visible as earthworks to the southwest of Higher Park Farm, Broadwindsor, on aerial photographs of the 1940s. Its form suggests a probable post medieval origin, probably the result of steam ploughing, but an eary 20th century date is also possible. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description

A unit of narrow ridged cultivation marks is visible as earthworks to the southwest of Higher Park Farm, Broadwindsor, on aerial photographs of the 1940s (1). Its form suggests a probable post medieval origin, probably the result of steam ploughing, but an eary 20th century date is also possible. The site is no longer visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (2). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
