Summary

A feature observed in 1976 during works by British Gas, and interpreted as a possible pit. The Romano British pit was partially excavated containing black soil with charcoal, pottery including Samian, bronze slag and bone fragments.

Full Description

ST 761080. A pit-like feature containing Romano-British pottery at Hazelbury Bryan is reported by British Gas Corporation. <1> (ST761086) Partially excavated, the pit fill consisted of a black soil containing charcoal, pottery (including Samian ware, bronze slag and bone fragments. <2>
