Summary
A extensive series of trackways are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 cutting across Cranborne Common. They are considered to be ancient routeways across the common possibly originating in the post medieval, medieval or even earlier periods. Some of the trackways are now under modern planation but others are still visible on recent digital photographs. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

A extensive series of trackways are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 cutting across Cranborne Common (1-2). They are considered to be ancient routeways across the common possibly originating in the post medieval, medieval or even earlier periods. Some of the trackways are now under modern plantation but others are still visible on recent digital photographs (3). The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
