Full Description

A historic banked field boundary to the southwest of Merritown Farm is visible on current Lidar imagery (1). The straight linear form of the field boundary suggests aprobable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible. The boundary is overlain by a series of parallel, slightly curving linear features thought to be drainage channels and/or cultivation marks (MDO39621) indicating that the boundary pre-dates these (1). The boundary is now under the extended golf course (2). The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
