The barrow may be the feature already recorded in the Dorset HER as MDO8809 and MWX3259 but to avoid confusion, the barrow recorded here was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP. The barrow group is recorded under NHRE Hob UID 458505, with this barrow thought to be number 4. On current Lidar imagery this feature is shown as a low oval mound measuring around 10.5m by 7m, with a narrow ditch visible along its south, west and north sides <3>. It is situated on the brow of a small rise of ground above a later east-west aligned trackway, which divides this barrow from the southernmost of the group of five (MDO8810). The barrow is clearly visible under early plantation on an RAF aerial photograph dated 1954 <2> The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
