Full Description
A group of low indistinct mounds to the south of Quomp Copse are visible on current Lidar imagery (1). The features may be possible Bronze Age barrows.
The most distinct feature of the group is a low mound measuring 13m in diameter and situated on the southeast side of a field boundary, just clear of the tree cover. Three additional mounds of similar size but less distinct in form are located to the northeast, within a field boundary and under tree cover. None of the features are visible on available aerial imagery. It is possible that the mounds are medieval pillow mounds.
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
