Summary
A large area of extractive workings is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 at Stephens Castle, Verwood. It is marked a Workings (Disused) and Pit (dis) on the OS 1:10,000 mapping. The features are considered to be the remains of early 20th century extracton and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
