Summary

An extensive post medieval drainage system is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 in the vicinity of Harts Farm, Horton. The features appear to be partially overlain by a system of late 19th or 20th century cultivation marks (MDO39769). The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

An extensive post medieval drainage system is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 in the vicinity of Harts Farm, Horton (1). The features appear to be partially overlain by a system of late 19th or 20th century cultivation marks (MDO39769). The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP. The features have been levelled by ploughing and pasture improvements and are no longer visible on recent vertical photographs (2).
