A series of post medieval extractive pits on the southern slopes of Blackwater Hill are visible on 1940s aerial photographs and current Lidar imagery (1 and 2).
The site is under low heathland scrub and the features are not visible on a 2014 vertical aerial photograph (3).
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
