Full Description

A bank and ditched field system of uncertain origin is visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 and 1989 on the eastern side of Horton Common (1-2). The features run on a completely different alignment to the modern system of fields and may be of medieval or even earlier origin. Parallel banked linears within the north-easternmost field may be the remains of medieval strip fields.
