Two bomb craters dating to the Second World War are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 on Lower Common, Verwood. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP. They lie in the vicinity of a known bombing decoy described in MDO39839.

Two bomb craters dating to the Second World War are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 on Lower Common, Verwood (1-2). They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP. They lie in the vicinity of a known bombing decoy described in MDO39839. The features are still extant and visible on lidar imagery (3).
